McQuillen Interactive

Software Design and Development, 2002 - Current

Worked as an independent software developer to provide clients with efficient, helpful and usable software applications. Most work has been in the e-Learning field or in the field of building energy analysis and simulation. Developed both desktop and web-based solutions, including user interface design and front-end and back-end software -- always with a focus on usability and efficient, clean code.

Current and former clients include iBiology, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, Fenestralia (AU), Vitesse Learning, The Deringer Group, Simulat Interactive, Apexion Software, Mueller design and others. Technologies include Open edX, Django, MySQL, Postgres, AWS (multiple services), Angular, Javascript, AngularDart, Dart, Apache Flex/ Adobe AIR, EnergyPlus, Window7, Therm, and many other languages, frameworks and applications.

Credit Suisse Personal Finance

Information Architect and Web Developer, 2000 - 2001

Responsibilities centered around Web application development, including: information design, interface design, graphic design, internet strategy, web development, business requirements gathering, customer experience design and internal applications development. Served as a key member of the customer experience team and assisted in the development of a new customer experience methodology.

Mothership Design

Co-Founder, Information Architect and Sofware Developer, 1999 - 2000

Co-founded company to provide software for Atlanta-based businesses. Hired two staff and managed firm activities. Main client was E-Invest, an online brokerage start-up based in Atlanta. Other clients included Andersen Consulting, FrogFire Design, Melia Design and Catalyst Consulting.

Georgia Institute of Technology

Graduate Assistant, Icarus Project, 1998 - 1999

Assisted faculty in conceptualizing online course for technical writing. Developed complete web presence (IIS, ASP, Adobe PDF SDK) for the course, including all information architecture, programming, graphic design, and site management.

Environmental Design & Construction

Associate Editor, 1997 - 1998

Helped conceptualize, create, and launch this start-up magazine for green architecture. Responsible for most of magazine's content, including features and columns. Magazine was a tremendous success among the architectural community.

Incentive Magazine

Assistant Editor, 1995 - 1996

Wrote cover stories, features and regular columns for this award-winning trade magazine.
